Some pictures people took of the Family Chapman having fun at Cyclefest <!-- fred -->
Cyclefest 2004
These are pictures from Sunday at Cyclefest, the day we went to Salt Ayre to race and have fun. The population of Morecambe was treated to a display of unusual machines, from Bromptons and Moultons to trick bikes, and many kinds of recumbent. It was a great day out. Velovision covered it, Rebecca was there too, and here's her page.

Riding cyclemagic's wobbly trike, with three eccentrically-spoked wheels. Picture courtesy of Wobbly John.

The balance of the pictures are by Liz and Nick, and very nice they are, too. Much better than I could manage - excellent motion blur in some of them, for example.

Mr Chapman unwisely rides his commuting bike in a "serious" race. Note lack of other riders - they are well ahead :-)

Mike Burrows has the satisfaction of lapping someone, and reveals why he thinks racing is "orrible" - spending half an hour staring at your race number has got to be a bit dull (or is he reading a book?)

Superb action shot.

The tandem race was one of the fun races. Especially for us - we came second behind a back-to-back recumbent tandem ridden by two adults. Peter is having huge fun.

Finishing in style, Mum cheering in the background (white hat and reflective tabard).

He sees the flag...

He knows he's home...

He wins! Michael's first race, and a fine performance.

All-comers race, Michael on a KMX Kart with Stelvios.

And they're off! The Ordinary apparently kept most of the serious contenders safely behind until the last half lap, since we'd been told to take care overtaking it.

The cool-down lap, a Brommie hidden behind us and, we think, Darth Stuart on the Cyclemagic wobbly bike.
